Plant Propagation Project

In 2009 Linda McHam initiated a project to construct propagation beds for the Club. The idea is to train members to propagate plants for Club plant sales. Sales have usually used "bought-in" plants, so growing our own saves money. Prior to Linda's project, over the years various experienced Club members provided instruction to others about propagating plants.

The Photo Archive page (see "Plant Propagation" links on the left side of the page) documents how the beds were constructed and filled with cuttings. Also see Linda's chart for taking cuttings from deciduous plants; this chart, and other propagation information is found on the Gardening Help page.
